Accountable for setting the strategic direction, negotiating contracts, planning for and managing implementation, measuring progress against strategic plan, and also managing the resources and interfaces required to effectively support, develop and execute business plans. The role requires the ability to develop and then articulate a strategic vision which can be translated into actionable executable directives for deployment within the Regions and includes management of the strategic relationship during operational deployment through the Regions. It also requires leadership in the pursuit of carbon reduction initiatives and the advancement of Intelligent Automation as a route to safer, more predictable and more efficient activity. Activity includes:‐Development and execution of the deep water strategy, including identification of strategic suppliers.Negotiation of BP offshore rig contracts of value up to $500mForecasting timing of approaches to market to meet global BP rig demand.Accountable for resolving "white space" issues where a rig is contracted but demand is subsequently cancelled, resulting in BP exposure of up to $400mRelationship management with rig contractors and cross industry peers.Rigs market intelligence, forward rig rate forecasting.Support for supplier management in the analysis of rig contractor performance. Thought leader and driving force for the Carbon reduction strategy for BP rigs to and identify commercially viable options that deliver sustainable emissions reduction ‐ in a period when investment by either BP or rig contractors is a challenge. Coordinated activity of a number of GWO teams to create a coherent plan for advancing Intelligent Automation on rigs.
