I performed various cost-effectiveness studies for different orphan drugs, i.e. drugs for rare diseases. The main topic of my PhD was the cost-effectiveness study for enzyme replacement therapy for Pompe disease. During an internship I examined the trade-off between risk selection and prevention under the Dutch risk equalization scheme. The results of the study were published in Social Science & Medicine.
