I founded Applied Electro-Optics with 2 CMU professors and an angel investor, and managed all aspects of the company from inception through $5 million of venture financing. AEC produced high-speed laser light control systems based on electro-optic crystal technology licensed from Carnegie Mellon University and Kodak. We merged with Accelight in 2000, at which time AEC had 21 people with a revenue rate of $2 million per year, AcceLight developed a terabit optical router with a 100 nanosecond switch fabric using AEC technology. I was retained after AcceLight acquired Applied Electro-Optics Corp. to manage international development and outsourcing programs to produce electro-optic assemblies. o Managed over 20 international bidders for parts and services, placed over $1.5 million in orders.o Achieved 25% cost reduction and saved $1 million by collapsing procurement layers.
