Engineer on Navy Survey Motor Launch Hydrographic Survey System Upgrade project

Manager of aircraft maintenance contract to the RAAF. This is where I discovered that I could put to good use my skill sets in engineering and maintenance/supply and database development. I developed a business system with which I managed a multi-million dollar RAAF aircraft maintenance contract, and is a system I still support today. I feel very strongly that any information system must have real business outcomes i.e. increase the bottom line by doing more (greater throughput) with less (human resources), and leverage the information repository in an intelligent way in order to make better business decisions by being well informed.

A range of jobs, starting as an apprentice fitter, then Royal Military College, maintenance engineering management roles. Studied Aeronautical Engineering for aircraft engineering roles. Studied (again) Masters in IT (project management) for software-intensive aircraft acquistion (Eurocopter Tiger) project role. Some great opportunities for travel (PNG, East Timor, France, USA).
