In 2010, after working for several Maui activity companies, I was tired of the “cattle call” approach and wanted to take guests on a personalized adventure away from crowds and off the beaten path. It was then that I started Hawaiian Paddle Sports, an eco-tour company providing cultural and educational experiences for guests through intimate outrigger canoe tours, kayak tours, surf lessons, and stand up paddle board lessons on Maui. All tours and lessons are private or limited to small groups, inspiring guests to develop a deep connection and respect for the Island of Maui.With the ocean as our office, we do everything we can to take care of Maui’s environment, community and island culture. One highlight is our company's “Malama Maui” give back program, where we donate to a local nonprofit organization and volunteer for service projects – ranging from restoring native habitats to taking underprivileged youth out in the ocean.In 2015, Hawaiian Paddle Sports proudly became a Certified B Corporation. We were the first company on Maui to receive this prestigious designation, which demonstrates our leadership in sustainable practices, support of our local community, and strong employee benefits.
