OwnerTim Casey Jul 1996 - Dec 2001Specified, designed and implemented a search engine written in Java and Perl. The search engine is based on proprietary search algorithms written in perl. Web pages are pulled off the web, parsed, indexed and stored as data on the disk. The data is then stored in a BerkeleyDB and can be retrieved on a single Linux box in real time. The algorithm can be converted to a parallel Linux cluster. Built up Linux boxes, versions 5.2 and 7.2, installed perl/BerkeleyDB and other public domain supporting software. Specified, designed and coded algorithm for retrieving, storing and searching large portions of data in a timely and resource friendly manner. The product runs under apache does page crawling using Perl web packages then turns the page information into searchable data which is stored in a flat database. The database is placed under a web server and dynamic HTML is emitted for the users search.
