Clydesdale Bank 2015-05 - 2017-09Solution Designer for Clydesdale Bank for the demerger from parent company National Australia Bank.
Phase 1 involved working through key technical and business dependencies on NAB where the entities could not be considered separate without logical or physical separation of data / systems and or the business/technical roles. Solutions involved a combination of manual processes and technical implementations, working closely with the impacted business units and external vendors.
The next phases involved standing up Clydesdale Bank technical capabilities to remove the dependency on NAB systems that were allowed to be used under a transitional service agreement for a limited time. This required product and service provider assessment, along with deep technical analysis to support the target state architecture, working very closely with the Treasury Business unit, NAB and Clydesdale Technical teams and service provider. -

1) Technical Specialist assisting the re-platforming of the GCS platform from Roma / Mercator to use Oracle Service Bus and WTX (Mercator). Role included:
- Design enhancements to core components to migrate the existing capability to OSB

- Provided guidance on required performance testing and platform resilience
- Assisted assets whom consume GCS services in understanding the re-platforming project and ensuring they were satisfied with what was being tested / implemented.
2) Worked on various other NAB projects performing design and analysis, producing High Level Design specifications or smaller artefacts depending on the required solution. Role Included:
- designing a custom solution to ensure reliable message delivery with a replay capability based on MQ Series. Used to ensure Foreign Exchange currency bookings were actioned.
- designed / documented proposed changes to the banks website in respect to identifying the device accessing the site and which version of the page should be loaded, ie. desktop, mobile, etc.
- produced a detailed pack describing solutions / impacts / customer experience to ensure the solution would meet the business owners expectations.
