Visual Artist
CurrentI make abstract paintings that reflect a lived experience. The foundation of my work is based on the fluid, inconsistent space of memory and time as informed by my observations of the residue of human activity on the everyday environment. My paintings emphasize multi-layered systems, color and process, highlighting color, overlapping forms and fractured spaces. My work is represented by the Bridgette Mayer Gallery (Philadelphia, PA) and Paris Texas LA (Los Angeles, CA) with works available at the Phillip Slein Gallery (St. Lois, MO).In addition to paintings and works on paper, my art making extends to photography, digital art and temporary, site-specific drawing/painting installations. My academic experience includes being a visiting artist/lecturer, with the recent addition of engaging with art students remotely as a guest lecturer and visiting critic on the elementary, high school and college levels. I also taught Advanced Painting at Tyler School of Art & Architecture for two semesters.
