- Designed optimization model, algorithms, and UI for cancer treatment delivery prototype by Philips- Tested accuracy of prototype systems including 2D and 3D ultrasound, deformation registration system, and needle tracking algorithm- Designed 3D printing framework for creating customized cancer treatment applicators (see attached project)- Recruited and mentored undergraduate students from UC Berkeley

- Developed linear and integer programs for computing optimal radiation therapy plans for cancer patients- Iterated with doctors and physicists at the Dept. of Radiation Oncology at UCSF to mathematically model physical constraints and treatment objectives- Built Matlab/CPLEX toolbox to batch-test optimization algorithms, visualize patient data, and post-process results- Implemented two algorithms in a robotic workflow to automate operating room tasks - won Best Application Award at CASE 2012
