To know me is to know who I am. Eventually I've come to realize there are three things which have shaped, and continues to shape my life: war, poverty and business.My grandpa was a revolutionary and human rights activist in Vietnam. My father (and mother) lived through the Vietnam war and fled the country as boat people and eventually ended up in the United States where I was born. That's why I've dedicated the rest of my life to using the power of business to help solve the world's most important social issues.As a child we grew up poor. Mom and Dad were immigrants who couldn't speak English, so as you can imagine, opportunity was not plentiful. My first "bed" for years was a blanket on the floor of an apartment in Santa Ana, CA. That's why I work as if my life depends on it and I unreasonably expect others to as well.I come from a family of entrepreneurs dating back to Great Grandpa. As a family we talk about business over coffee, at lunch, at the dinner table and even on family vacations. It's literally a part of my DNA. That's why I am committed to my business and yours. I understand what it means to refinance the house to make payroll and max out on credit cards to keep the lights on.Ultimately I tell you this because I believe you should know who I am if you ever decide to do business with me.
