Organic fluorine chemist/technical training, joined ICI in 1975. worked on a wide range of projects and products through my career in the company. Two main areas were: 1. As an applications expert, using electrostatic techniques to deliver herbicides, paints, pharmaceuticals and speciality chemicals. 2. As a technical/business manager with global responsibilities for ICI's offering of medical propellant gases for asthma inhaler manufacture. This business is now owned by Koura (previously Mexichem) my current employer. Having worked in the Metered Dose Inhaler world for 29 years I have become a recognised authority on these gases and their use, and advise UN groups on related matters. I am now focussed on developing and delivering to the pMDI industry our new medical propellant, HFA 152a. I find it’s combined properties of environmental friendliness and enhanced performance over existing propellants very exciting, and am of the opinion that this will be the 'trigger point' for a renaissance for the pMDI.I'm hoping to enjoy the ride for a little while yet!!Specialties: Marketing.
