I have deep experience in developing business processes and IT systems, mostly at the interface between business, business processes, and IT, and between research and practice. Since my AI studies I have been fascinated by computers being able to reason and carry out tasks requiring complex analysis and problem solving. Now, I am very interested in applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (ML) technologies:1) As an enabler for new and more efficient business processes and a component in information systems, and2) To increase the efficiency of process and information system development.During my latest career I have worked as 1) senior concept manager and business analyst, 2) process development manager, 3) an IT project and application portfolio manager, and 4) an enterprise architect. My work has focused on sales processes and product data management, ranging from strategy, roadmaps and business cases to working on business requirements and architecture design in development programs. I have often delivered results exceeding my targets, been selected 10 times to long term incentive programs for key employees, and recognized several times by executive leaders for my or team contributions.My previous career was from research assistant to university professor. I majored in symbolic, logic-based AI and did my PhD thesis on its application to product configuring. Our research group further developed a configurator system that was successfully commercialized. I got an overview of industry problems and practices by doing and leading applied research on enterprise information systems together with dozens of companies.My motivation for the above-mentioned areas stems from my engineering mindset. I enjoy analysing business needs or problems and defining solutions to them based on my experience and available research or other solid information.My core strengths are analytical thinking, problem solving and quickly grasping complex topics that I can clearly explain also to non-experts. I work independently, proactively and am goal driven while being open to new ideas and changes. My colleagues consider me a pleasant, fair, trusted, and consensus-oriented co-worker.
