Since then we have spread our activities to the Interior of BC and to Washington State, and are looking forward to further expansion of this circular economy-based initiative.The NISP model has been proven world-wide to create the most regional industrial symbiosis in the shortest time. Industrial symbiosis business opportunities include business-to-business partnerships to transform wastes or by-products from one business into higher value inputs for other businesses, as well as business-to-business collaboration to maximize efficient use of logistics, space, or even R&D resources. The NISP model is endorsed by the G7, OECD, EU, and Global Green Growth Forum and has been adapted in 30 countries.With the time and funding available, our team hosted 16 facilitated workshops, connecting hundreds of businesses, individuals, NFPs, universities and colleges, etc. for the purpose of upcycling or sharing underutilized or unused resources. The NISP Canada team identified several hundred resources, and made over 3000 initial resource matches. Those matches we were able to advance to new business relationships diverted and estimated 250,000 t of material from landfill; reduced GHGs by 30,000 tonnes; and delivered business benefits of nearly $7 million - all for $1 million of public sector funding (provided by the Canadian federal and BC provincial governments, and a number of municipalities and regions).This role combined my technical background and industry experience in:- engaging and managing relationships with businesses of all sectors and sizes- identifying and implementing business-to-business symbiosis opportunities to achieve triple bottom line benefits (business, social, and environmental) Show less

I was also responsible for leadership and strategy for CO2 capture opportunities at the Scotford Upgrader and subsequent expansions (later the Quest CCS project).
