I started out working as a laser tube programmer, drawing out the programmes for a laser tube cutting machine. I later worked my way up into the design office where I worked as a draftsman doing full manufacturing drawings and assemblies. We drew everything from roll bars, camera housings, seedling conveyor trays, stair railings, jigs, and pretty much anything you could fabricate with sheet metal and tubing. Show less

I was a CAD Operator for the NDT (Non-Destructive Tests) department, doing drawing for special surveys and class renewal surveys which included drawings out entire ship and other marine structures (Gantry cranes, lifting hooks, transverse bulkheads, ship hulls etc). Other duties were compiling portfolios for certification and submission as well as filling out NDT reports
