About Tim O. Moore Ii, Phd, P.E., Pmp, Dbia

I am currently serving in my dream role as the Mid-Atlantic Area Business Development Manager for HDR. HDR has provided me with significant opportunties to grow and learn from some of the best folks in the business. I am truly blessed. I earned a PhD in 2008 at Virginia Tech, M.S. in 1999 at the University of Maryland College Park, and B.S. at Virginia Military Institute in 1997. All of my academic degrees and professional experience are in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Specifically, I have expertise in water and wastewater process applications, air quality, and sustainable water and sanitation engineering practices in developing communities. I have experience in both the professional and academic realms of engineering. I served as an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at Virginia Military Institute for seven years. I was awarded the State Council for Higher Education in Virginia's Rising Star award in 2015, the VMI Distinguished Teaching Award, the Wilbur S. Hinman '26 Research Award and the VMI Institute Advancement Award for advancing the reputation of the institute. I executed numerous humanitarian engineering projects where I led and completed sustainable engineering and sanitation projects with students and staff in Bolivia, Haiti, Ecuador, Uganda and various domestic locations. This work has resulted in the construction of more than 100 miles of water and sanitation mains, more than 200 sanitation facilities and clean drinking water infrastructure to more than 5,000 families in developing nations worldwide. This work has also saved the lives of more than 15,000 people. For more than 28 years, I have been designing and constructing various water and wastewater utility components. I have concentrated on process and utilities engineering and project management of various local, state and federal government projects. The projects include all facets of civil and environmental engineering to include budgeting, design and construction of potable and non-potable water lift stations, water and wastewater treatment plants, deep well potable water source design and large diameter pipeline design and construction.
