Through three different publishing houses over four years I and my team took ER from a subscription-only periodical on the verge of collapse down to a quarterly and then back to monthly title with UK and international distribution then from independent stores on to a pride of place position between the Literary Review and Spectator on the shelves of WHSmiths nationally.We were only able to do this by quickly recognising the need to downsize the team (learning new skills, taking on much extra work myself) and to move the printing of the title to the far east, slashing by more than half the cost of production.To help to subsidise the magazine's rebirth for 2 years I was also editor-in-chief of Forum magazine (Q3 Ltd), a 40 year old title of some infamy.At one point I oversaw the production of 23 units a year, 3 full time staff and more than 20 regular contributors. I learned the complete publishing process from commission brief through to edit, layout design, production and delivery.Once ER had been bought back by Jamie Maclean, its original founders (The Erotic Print Society), in 2007 I did a stint as Senior Editor for Penthouse (UK, Trojan Publishing) before returning for a time to Erotic Review Ltd. as Associate Editor (specialising in Design & Marketing) to aid in its further development.______________ Senior Editor (Editor-in-Chief ER) - Trojan Publishing June 2006 – April 2007 I moved to work with managing editor & team of five on high profile men's lifestyle title Penthouse, to introduce cultural content similar to ER. Managing f/t team of two, and twenty or so regular contributors, to produce 23 units a year spread across three consumer titles (quarterly/bimonthly/monthly). Total responsibility for budgets, edition planning, commissioning, editing, design, layout and production to tight weekly deadlines, liaising with licensers of international content over rights permissions.
