The Victorian Electoral Commission is the Statutory body responsible for administering Victoria's elections.The district officer is an extension of the electoral office running in tandem with the office to ensure the Election Day Voting centres are fit for operation. A District officer is responsible for managing ballot paper logistics using complex inventory management systems, procuring resources for voting centres with supplies (ranging from critical secure material to necessary stationary), digital asset management, handling secure/sensitive material, managing the return of materials on election night, administering training for voting centre staff, producing critical voting centre documents, directing count staff for Regional counts, alongside other duties.During the election period District officers are required to maintain constant reporting with various offices to give updates on critical deadlines and adapt with changing circumstances.

Return of materials officer for Election night in packaging assistance zone.During the election night return of materials the AEC has strict rules and security requirements for every level of material that enters a secure building, when packaging anomalies are noticed the officers troubleshoot and rectify issues for security and archival purposes such as managing contaminated secure material, repackaging material, and then admitting material to be processed.Counting Supervisor.Supervising the activities of counting staff from the sorting of ballot papers to the counting of ballot papers, and determining the preference results for the ballot papers whilst being scrutinised by independent political scrutineers.
