Nexxus Holdings is a family office that invests with a long-term, fundamentals-based approach. We have a flexible mandate to make investments in both publicly traded and private companies. These investments may take the form of minority or control investments. We are especially interested in businesses that are utilizing technology to create efficiencies in their respective areas.

The RUNX1 Research Program (RRP) is a 501(c)(3) research and advocacy foundation for the inherited blood cancer predisposition, RUNX1 Familial Platelet Disorder (RUNX1-FPD). RRP’s mission is to improve the quality of life and prevent cancer in patients with RUNX1-FPD by promoting awareness and funding world-class, collaborative research with an empowered patient community. As Founder and Director, I set up the foundation, hired a team I’m proud of, put in place a process for awarding research grants and helped establish a global team of experts focused on the disorder. Over the course of the past 5 years we have funded over $7mil in grants, creating an exciting stir in the cancer research space. Studying blood cancer predispositions offers a window into how a pre-cancerous cell converts to a cancerous cell and begins to multiply, holding the promise of uncovering medicines that could prevent cancer from ever forming, broadly impacting cancer-prevention strategies for all in the future.

Fortelus specializes in debt and equity investments across multiple industries with a focus on financial and legal restructuring. The fund often takes an active role in the operational restructuring and turnaround of portfolio companies. Fortelus has also selectively invested in early stage companies with potential for industry disruption, including starting and owning 100% of the equity of an internet-only fintech-oriented retail bank.Fortelus Capital Management, which became a multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund in 2009, now operates as a family office focusing on management of funds for the owner and CEO.

Founder and controlling shareholder of this start-up European challenger bank. Grew deposits and assets substantially over the course of seven years, passporting services into a number of other European jurisdictions and winning numerous banking awards in Malta.

As the first employee of the firm, after the CEO, I worked on all aspects of the creation of Silver Point Capital Management. In 2004 I relocated to London to help establish and build out the European office for the firm. In my earlier role based in the US, I had global sector responsibilities for telecoms, media, technology (TMT), general industrials, and mining investments and was responsible for a multi-billion dollar investment portfolio within the overall multi-billion dollar fund. I also served on numerous boards of directors of companies within the investment portfolio.

Worked in private equity and boutique investment banking within JP Morgan and was responsible for financial and business analysis.
