Responsible for coordination of design responsibilities on all GM programs developed in the Seymour office. Programs developed include Cadillac Escalade, C7 Corvette, Chevrolet and GMC light duty pickup trucks.Program tasks include:. • Reviewing design feasibility, creating BOMs and technical presentations for customers and management during RFQ phase.• Monitoring and directing designs of 5-6 R&D Engineers assigned to active GM programs. Mentoring and training new R&D engineers on all job tasks and lighting design. Main point of contact with General Motors Engineering Department and Styling Studios for new product engineering issues and styling of lamp. Responsible for development of any optical mockups and lit styling mockups required by customer for proof of concept.• Ensuring that all program documentation such as DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, thermal/optical/vibration simulation reports, and component specifications/prints and RFQs are completed on time. Responsible for Design Validation testing activities and design changes needed to meet customer & internal testing requirements. • Responsible for maintaining and tracking engineering budgeted hours and costs for each program.

Responsible for coordination of all program tasks for 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee & Dodge Durango (headlamps), 2006 GMC Acadia (Headlamps, Tail Lamps, and Rear Lift-gate lamps), 2004 Cadillac SRX (Headlamps & Tail Lamps), 2002 Buick Rendezvous lighting systems (headlamps, tail lamps, and rear lift-gate lamps).Program Tasks include: Interface with customers on design direction for product development and styling. Managing costs & margins agreed upon at time of sourcing by improving efficiencies, using standardized components, and negotiating changes requested by the customer. Acquiring all tooling & capital equipment costs, developing and maintaining program budgets and timelines. Coordinating product launch efforts. This included coordinating tasks of other engineers for process development, quality control planning, new equipment selection and installation, and production problem troubleshooting after launch. Coordinate product quality verification, inspection, and physical testing of new products.

Responsible for coordination of numerous automotive and heavy truck projects for manufacturing departments. Major customers included Ford, Freightliner, Mitsubishi, and John Deere. Responsibilities included:  Interfacing with marketing, design engineers, and customers to develop product requirements and styling. Purchasing all required tooling, expediting for timely delivery, and maintaining tooling budgets. Providing labor and material cost estimates for proposed designs. Conducting manufacturing capacity analysis studies for new products and developing plans to expand capacity.

Responsible for installing and maintaining the facility’s mold monitoring system while also completing engineering tasks for new product projects.

Responsible for troubleshooting problems on the production floor and providing mechanical and technical support to all manufacturing departments.
