Tim heads Sajen’s Sydney office and the Commercial/IP division of the firm. He has a specialised skill set in the areas of corporate governance and intellectual property. His passion lies in guiding his clients through their entire business life cycle from incorporation/structuring to divestment/exiting (and all the challenging times in between).

As Major Domus Ltd looks to spread its wings after building strong foundations in recent years, Timothy has been added to the team in a corporate and legal strategic advisory role. He brings significant experience in commercial dispute resolution, entity and structuring advice and intellectual property protection and exploitation.

Ready5 is an IP and Data Protection service that is the brainchild of Sajen Legal (a law firm) and Argent (a software house). As the storage of personal details and confidential information on servers/internet continues to increase so does the potential liability for companies that hold that type of information. It’s not just important to protect yourself from external hacking with firewalls, but also internal leaks. Directors and board members are also now being made personally liable in class actions from shareholders and employees for not putting proper protection mechanisms in place. Sony (in light of its recent scandal) are being sued by employees for not properly protecting the emails that have been allowed to be leaked/stolen and made public. With this potential minefield expanding, it was important that companies consider their IP and CI protection not just from the software perspective, but also the legal perspective. One without the other leaves a gaping hole in risk management within the business.
