I have served in the United States Marine Corps since graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 2007 and have a Masters of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland. I have been flying F/A-18 Hornets since 2011, including one Combat Deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in 2015. I graduated from the United States Naval Test Pilot School in 2017, and am currently the Chief Test Pilot at VX-31 leading Flight and Ground Test efforts for the F/A-18A-D Hornet, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler, AV-8B Harrier, and weapons system development at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.I married my wife Yen in 2015 and we now have two great kids; Brooke who was born in 2015 and Corey who was born in 2019. My wife and I love to take the kids camping whenever we can. My hobbies include fly-fishing, fossil hunting, camping, and flying. I also enjoy sailing, skiing, hiking, rock hunting, and gardening. In 2019, I went on a National Outdoor Leadership School course with VX-31 through the Wind River Range in Wyoming. While attending USNA, I was a member of the Varsity Offshore Sailing Team (VOST). In 2004, I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be on a crew that sailed the 60-foot sailboat American Promise across the Atlantic, from the United States Naval Academy to the Ecole Navale (French Naval Academy) on a goodwill mission in one of the most memorable experiences of my life. In 2006, I was one of the seven VOST crew to represent the United States in the Student Yachting World Cup in Lorient, France. In 2007, I skippered the yacht Dreadnaught to the overall first place win out of over 60 boats in the Fort Lauderdale to Key West Ocean Race.
