I lead an outreach team at People Encouraging People Inc. whose primary focus was to work with the homeless and poverty stricken population of Baltimore, Maryland assisting them in finding and affording housing, education, work, medical and mental health treatment, and counseling. My duties included creating a plan of action that I would then delegate to my team members in their areas of expertise. The goal was to provide the highest quality service to people who were in need based on their situations regardless of their financial situation. I would assess each client's situational factors and needs and set goals for the team to reach throughout the process. I took a hands-on approach working with my team, personally focusing on the medical and mental health treatment aspects of each client. I would personally research appropriate facilities and doctors/specialists, set up appointments, arrange transportation and billing, facilitate any follow-ups, and keep records.
