I have extensive experience working with kids ranging in age from 6 months-17 years old. I’ve worked with kids both part time and full time for over 12 years. Currently I’m at a behavioral residential treatment center for foster care youth ages 10-17. I just completed my 2 year mark and am currently in the role of a supervisor managing a small crew of 3 staff per shift overseeing the day to day needs and behavioral and therapeutic treatment of 13 boys who have endured intense traumatic experiences of abuse and neglect.I’ve also traveled all over the U.S. mainly for recreational purposes, but it has allowed me to experience many different cultures, environments, and learn much about the diversity of this country and it’s people and places. I’m a big advocate for being outdoors and have done my fair share of backpacking trips and hikes and am passionate about Texas state parks and the national parks systems. From fishing in Alaska to hiking to waterfalls deep in the Grand Canyon from being an adventure guide in Hawaii to working abroad in Australia I’ve been exposed to many different types of people and places that have helped enlighten and educate me about the great diversity yet many similarities shared by the people of both the world and within the U.S.
