•As a Learning & Development professional I manage all training for ~300 employees, both union & exempt, assuring OSHA & DOT compliance while focusing on operational excellence. Tasks include supervision of training team personnel as well as subject matter experts; management of 5 learning management systems (LMS); curriculum development, implementation, and assessment; development of sophisticated computer based training (CBT) modules, distance learning, and classroom-based training solutions; and direct instruction in leadership skills. •Ph.D. in Communication, with excellent writing and research skills. As Chair of a M.A. Communication program I was accountable for curriculum development, program assessment, and advising, tailoring paths to learning success for students of all ages and experience. •20-year career as a master machinist and shop supervisor, responsible for quality production; training apprentices; establishing a strong safety culture; and supervising complicated plant maintenance. Supervised shops involving over 50 people and over $4m in annual revenue, and built up two factories from empty building to full production.•My approach reflects a conviction that listening, maximum effort, and accountability are the keys to achieving success.
