I am a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in cybersecurity, network engineering, business intelligence, and technology leadership, with a unique starting point in the US Marine Corps (USMC).In my early career, I cut my teeth in the USMC, working both as a Mortar Man and later in the Satellite Imagery Intelligence field. I was part of the esteemed Marine Corps Imagery Support Unit and Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA), honing my expertise in strategic intelligence and geospatial analysis.While simultaneously serving in the USMC, I pursued higher education and obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Networking and a Master's degree in Information Management Systems from Strayer University. The balance of practical, hands-on experience and academic rigor provided a strong foundation for my future roles.Upon leaving the military, I transitioned into the commercial sector, joining BAE North America as a Network Engineer. My time in this role allowed me to sharpen my technical acumen and understand the unique challenges of private sector cybersecurity.From there, I found my calling in public service once more, joining the Federal Bureau of Investigation. For 17 enriching years, I worked in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer, leading Data Enterprise Engineering and within the Operational Technology Division's Remote Operations Unit. In these roles, I spearheaded the technical development of computer network investigative and defensive techniques, always staying at the forefront of emerging threats and technologies.In the later stage of my career, I joined the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as Deputy Director within the CIO's Office of Organizational Policy and Governance. Not only did I help shape organizational policy, but I also served as the interim Chief Data Officer, demonstrating my versatility as a leader and strategic thinker.Currently, I'm embracing the challenge as the agency's Chief Information Security Officer. In this role, I have the privilege of serving as the top cybersecurity executive, protecting the nation's intellectual property from potential cyber threats.With my combined experience in technology, cybersecurity, and business intelligence, I have the knowledge and leadership skills to guide both technical teams and senior executives in navigating today's complex digital landscape. I'm a staunch believer in the power of technology as a force for good, and I look forward to opportunities where I can continue to use my skills to protect and enhance our digital world.
