I have always been an explorer, and my interests have always been diverse, spanning across such topics as the origin of life on Earth and the collapse of financial markets. Computers were a gateway to satisfying this curiosity, not only because of access to the many academics who posit their hypotheses and publish their conclusions electronically, but also because of the potential that computers have in extending each person's calculative and evaluative abilities. Throughout my experience as an Accounting major at the University of Notre Dame and as a Masters student at Ohio State University, I realized that computers are now an inseparable part of knowledge acquisition and research. Although I initially hesitated to pursue a career in software development out of fear of how daunting the task seemed, I felt that this was the path I must take in order to continue exploring on a much deeper level. My interest lies primarily in modern data science techniques as they are applied to real world problems such as financial markets and the environment. Overall, I believe that advances in data science are the best hope that humanity has in order to continue adding to our collective knowledge and improving our experience. I am seeking work that will foster my personal development and allow me to acquire a deeper understanding of the world.
