Timothy Mah is a multi-faceted musician from San Francisco, CA who has performed at Thee Parkside, Bottom of the Hill, and the Great American Music Hall. He began playing music at the age of 5 on the piano, received his first guitar at 11 and it has become his instrument of choice ever since. Timothy graduated high school from Oakland School for the Arts (OSA) in June 2019 where he studied Jazz guitar in the School Of Instrumental Music. He then graduated in December 2022 from Berklee College of Music in Boston majoring in Music Business/Management with an emphasis in marketing and a minor in Music Technology.In 2020, Timothy started working his current band SHEORU presently comprised of guitarist Danny Chu and drummer Zev Rose from the metal band Spiritbox. SHEORU released their well-received first EP Forever Sleep in 2022. Timothy was introduced to the band environment and live performances at the San Francisco Rock Project where he played from March 2012 to November 2016 and with their touring group, House Band from July 2013 to December 2016, which focused on playing classic and alternative rock music. In the summer of 2016, Timothy formed the band, Angry Asian Abrasion, in collaboration with fellow OSA students Gus Hurteau and Kevin Xu and subsequently Edgar Duchesneau, focusing on progressive metal. He released his first solo album Tim in December of 2015, an instrumental cover of Rock, Classical, and Jazz songs followed by the release of The List in November of 2016, an album of covers rock and metal covers. He then released his first EP of original material, The Untitled in September of 2017 which became a main part of Angry Asian Abrasion’s set list. On January 8th, 2021 he released his follow up EP The Incoming. Timothy continues to work on his solo recording projects focusing on instrumental progressive metal as well as with SHEORU.Over the past few years, Timothy has increasingly completed most of his own photography and videography needs. As a result, Timothy has also begun engaging in the photography and videography production needs for other artists and bands (portfolio).
