As an editor for more than 30 years, I am deadline driven. As a self-employed person for the past 30 years, I am task oriented and a self-started. As a pastor, off and on, sometimes full time and sometimes half time, I understand the needs and pressures a pastor faces. And has an historian of church history, I have an interest in and perspective for both the ancient and future church -- and the church present is a fascinating study as well. I have written three unpublished novels (!), written books for Abingdon and Chalice Press, Editor of HOMILETICS for more than 20 years, wrote the Back Page Opinion column for Homiletics, founded HOMETOUCH, a ministry to the homebound, and still serve as editor and writer. And I have lived in China for the past 13 years. My wife is a counselor in the Shanghai American School (saschina.org).
