Previously, I brought the same uncompromising approach to the advancement of car design and technology in the U.S., Europe, and Japan. Experience in consultancy and developing innovative solutions for a range of technologies from ultralight, low-drag, hybrid-electric automobiles to high-performance buildings and simulation tools. Broad public speaking skills and experience in numerous car-industry board rooms, design charrettes, Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) technical meetings, European Union Committee on Energy and Environment meetings, Center for the Built Environment (CBE) semi-annual meetings, American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) technical conferences, International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) conferences, and IES Virtual Environment User-Group meetings. Teaching experience in environmental education (Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center), automotive design (as RMI consultant to the automotive industry), comprehensive sustainable design for buildings (Boston Architectural College instructor and author of nationally distributed LEED Study Guide & Practice Exam), and building thermal, energy, and mechanical systems simulation (UC Berkeley course and advanced training for IES clients and technical support staff).
