The windparc is called “Hondstocht”.The locations of the new turbines are pre-defined as a result of earlier selectedcriteria.A selection of the most sufficient single line set-up, withcorrect cable sizing (type, cross-section, single or multi core) based on short circuitcalculations, loadflow and maximum acceptable voltage drop. These calculations was executed with the tool VISION. Calculations was made for 2 solutions; copper (Cu) type cables and Aluminium (Alu ) type cables. The most economical type was preferred ; the switchgear choice was Eaton brand for the grid-connection for technical/economical reason.Some alternative solutions was also investigated in relation to increasing the size ofcables and relocating the grid-connectionKey accomplishments Evaluated a concept for an offshore wind farm HV-DC connection; transmitted 400MVA, 60km distance to shore, controlled for grid interface (voltage/PF-control and short circuit capacities) Recommended manufacturers besides current market leaders -
