I've seen the mining industry from all angles and conditions. I spent the first third of my career, starting in 1977, as an Environmental Engineer and Manager for operating companies, mostly located at the mine site. I then joined the exciting world of independent consulting for nine years. After that, I needed a real job again. So I entered the engineering business in earnest and earned my PE license.After 11 years of project management with M3 Engineering and others, I reentered private practice in 2013. Even though it is a bit up and down, mostly it has been up, and I enjoy it.A sidelight developed when I started contributing to the preeminent mining investment newsletter, Exploration Insights by Brent Cook and Joe Mazumdar. I contribute occasionally on engineering and engineering economic topics related to mine project development and investing in emerging mining companies. Brent and Joe call the their "go-to" engineer.
