Served as an Associate Director of FinCEN, a Treasury bureau, with senior executive responsibility for all domestic and international Liaison operations, including crisis response and operations planning. FinCEN is both the financial intelligence unit (FIU) and the primary anti-money laundering/countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) regulator for the U.S. government. FinCEN has broad responsibility for collecting, maintaining, analyzing, and disseminating financial intelligence between financial institutions, regulators, law enforcement, and more than 160 foreign jurisdiction financial intelligence units worldwide. FinCEN is also responsible for designing and enforcing the regulatory protections meant to harden the U.S. financial system to money laundering and terrorist financing. Previously served as Deputy Associate Director for Intelligence (2013-2014) and Deputy Associate Director for International Programs (2007-2012). Currently on detail to the National War College.
