-Provided clean and quality checked data in close collaboration with the organisation’s geologists. Multimillion-dollar go/no go drilling and well positioning decisions were based in part on this data.-Solved legacy production data delivery and loading issues by cultivating a relationship with the supplier, specifying a format and timeline for data delivery and making sure those conditions were met. -Day to day manipulation, cleaning and formatting of large volume data sets in Excel, loading to an oracle database and further quality checking.-Provided virtual training sessions for data analysts at other locations, wrote ‘How to’ guides and optimised processes improving efficiency.-Organised and hosted ‘lunch and learn’ sessions where different individuals or parts of the business showcased projects they were working on. This promoted a more holistic company view, raised awareness of a colleague’s potentially under-utilised skill set and promoted social interactions.

-Project Managed a worldwide IT project to remove legacy phone systems and completely replace them with Skype, saving support fees and call costs. In a single year the project covered 150+ sites across 28 countries with 200+ project contacts. - Oversaw installation of IT infrastructure in varied environments (office blocks, oil refineries, offshore oil rigs) and climates (Tropical, Arctic etc)-Built strong relationships with virtual team members.-Created and managed project budgets ranging from $100K to $4.4M. Delivering all projects on time and on budget-Managed and created content for the ‘Moving the mindset’ project aiming to increase safety engagement in the global IT projects organisation. Ran a workshop for other project managers to promote this vision and train them how to plan for safety in their projects. This project won a company award for best safety initiative.

-Running one track of a large global project. working with virtual teams to deliver under the guidance of an experienced project manager.

-Provided daily summary of media information pertinent to the oil price to traders.-Analysed the prices paid for cargo by our own trader vs another companies.-Gathered data from refineries and calculated data points ultimately used for multimillion-dollar oil price hedges.-Ad hoc data provision and analysis for traders.

-Worked with oil traders, refineries, counterparts in other companies, and ship brokers to provide clear instructions to oil tankers regarding which ports to visit, what cargo quantities to load/unload and to which receivers. These instructions frequently altered mid-journey as refinery requirements changed or partial cargo volumes were sold to other parties. -Organised independent inspections of loading and unloading processes and investigated discrepancies in ship vs shore loading values.-On call 24/7 to deal with emergency issues (collisions, spills etc.).-A single vessels cargo could be worth $100M so mistakes would be costly. At any one time I could be responsible for up to 20 ships.-Represented ExxonMobil at sessions with other oil companies discussing industry events.

-Learned geological terms and data types gained proficiency in various geological software packages.-Learned to read a database architecture diagram, interrogate the oracle database with SQL and how to use basic commands in a Linux shell.-Presented at global workshop on ExxonMobil data processes – displaying the UK office processes and methods to deal with data types and encouraging input from other groups.-Cleaned up data in the database and pushed data to master data projects used by geologists.

-Investigated options to save important legacy data from tapes that were degrading in storage. -Drove discussion on data formats within the company and researched and framed the issue for managers and data owners. -Researched and presented figures persuading data owners that copies made would be extremely reliable and that destruction of old tapes could be undertaken to free up valuable storage space and save on storage fees.-Prepared a bid document with procurement which was sent to potential partner companies, rated the bids received with other colleagues, shortlisted three companies and interviewed them as part of a panel, ultimately choosing one partner.
