I am a lawyer at Loberg Ector LLP, a civil litigation firm in Calgary, AB. I have successfully appeared as sole counsel in the Alberta Court of Justice, Alberta Court of King’s Bench, and the Alberta Court of Appeal. I treat my clients with empathy and respect, drawing upon my previous non-profit work in youth programs, healthcare, and indigenous self-governance. I am a creative problem-solver and I explore all options for my clients, whether through the courts or an alternate dispute resolution process. I also have burgeoning appeals practice, with appellate experience at the Alberta Court of King's Bench (appeals from private arbitration), the Alberta Court of Appeal (appeals from lower courts), and the Federal Court of Appeal (appeals of judicial review).I am a loyal and effective advocate, cutting my teeth as an accomplished mooter in law school. I was the top-ranked oralist in the 2019 McGillivray Shield Moot and went on to achieve a 5th place team finish in the prestigious Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot (2020 Canadian National rounds). I am also the recipient of the 2020 Owen Saunders Prize in Public International Law. My peers describe me as trustworthy, quick-thinking, and calm under pressure.As a born-and-raised Albertan, I believe in giving back to the community. I am the President of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL) – Western Chapter, where we champion diversity in the legal profession and I lead the organization’s various initiatives and committees. I am also a regular mentor for the University of Calgary Diversity and Law Society and a panelist for their speaking events.I presented at and co-wrote a paper on civil procedure for family lawyers for the Legal Education Society of Alberta’s Family Law Fundamentals seminar. I also judge mooting teams across the world at the international rounds of the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Jessup International Law Moot.During law school, I volunteered with Student Legal Assistance (SLA), representing clients in court on family and civil matters, and with Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC) in the Family and Civil Duty Counsel Projects. I was also involved in student governance as the Vice President: Marketing of the Society of Law Students (SLS) and in student advocacy as an executive of the Diversity and Law Society (DLS).I challenge myself both professionally and personally. When I am not working or volunteering, you will find me climbing cliffs, racing bicycles, running half-marathons, or backpacking mountain trails.
