As long as I can remember, I have enjoyed finding patterns and trends. My analytical mindset and passion for number-crunching led me to study chemical engineering at Tufts University. There, I was able to challenge myself with coursework that involved modeling complex chemical processes and understanding the principles that drove these processes. I was also exposed to to problems that required software like Excel or Matlab to solve, and found excitement in writing code to produce powerful insights and results. Most importantly, I learned that there was still so much more to learn, in particular about how businesses make their decisions and the factors that make them successful.My curiosity led me to pursue my Master of Science in Innovation and Management from Tufts. In this program, I built the skills required to lead a startup from the ground up. This included hard skills like GAAP accounting, financial planning and analysis, and basic data science with Alteryx and Tableau, as well as soft skills like negotiation tactics, having difficult conversations, and making pitches to VCs.After graduating, I found a role at Guidehouse (formerly Navigant) as a senior consultant in the energy practice. There, I worked on a variety of projects with the main goal of providing clients with cost-effective methods to achieve energy savings. I worked closely with client data, analyzing it for trends and anomalies, designing intuitive visualizations, and presenting actionable insights back to clients in a way they understood. In my time at this role, I earned trust from clients, partners, and stakeholders by backing up my reasoning with data.Since my departure from Guidehouse in May 2022, I have focused on realigning my career with my passion for data analysis. In particular, I have extended my software skills by completing coursework on Dataquest. I learned to perform web-scraping/gathering unstructured data with Python, performing analysis with NumPy and Pandas, and querying, joining, and summarizing data from complex models in SQL.
