As Senior Impact Manager with City Year, I co-lead and co-create with my Impact Director, a deliberate developmental experience for several Impact Managers in our portfolio, their implementation of our site’s AmeriCorps program, service delivery in Philadelphia schools, and their positive impact on student growth. I serve on the Impact Leadership Team, consulting department leaders on service strategy and delivery. As an Impact Manager, I facilitated the partnership between City Year Philadelphia and Bethune Elementary School; having managed 32 AmeriCorps members through a positive service experience in a school community. As an City Year AmeriCorps Team Leader, I collaboratively worked with my manager to lead a diverse team of 8 first-year AmeriCorps members to success at our partner middle school in North Philadelphia. • Worked with Impact Manager, school administration, and teachers to identify 100 students to participate in City Year’s tier 2 intervention program.• Monitored intervention time and student growth through Salesforce and weekly trackers in order to enhance the team’s ability to engage students. • Coached AmeriCorps members in their Whole School support and shared best practices from previous years’ experience. • Strengthened public speaking skills through opportunities such as “Why I Serve” at Summer Training Academy, Deloitte Mentor/Mentee Program, the 7 Generation Project, and session facilitation for AmeriCorps Members. • Worked collaboratively with the Development department to secure investment by serving as a Red Jacket Ambassador.• Designed and programmed 25 school-wide events and initiatives that have reached over 1,500 students.• Organized After-School clubs and Homework Help with STEAM program that recruited and retained at least 40 students each month. • Led a team of 15 community volunteers at the City Year MLK Day of Service to paint 10 murals at Frankford High School.

As a City Year AmeriCorps member, I collaboratively worked with teachers to assess and create individualized academic interventions that centered student learning, were data-driven, and incorporated trauma-informed practices when necessary. • Provided academic tutoring to 5 students in math and literacy, mentoring to 5 students in attendance, and coaching to 4 students in social-emotional learning. • Conducted various assessments in order to develop data-driven interventions while incorporating trauma-informed practices that saw students improve from below basic to proficient in math. • Collaborated to create and implement 18 school-wide events that reached over 1,500 students such as a Fall Festival, a High School Fair, Career Day, a Math Relay event, story writing contests, attendance carnivals and morning events, and a public library card drive. • Supported the City Year Civic Engagement Team as a service reserve to prepare service projects such as beautification murals within schools and lead teams of 8 volunteers at both the CY Serves and MLK Day Service events completing 10 projects.

All incoming undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Pennsylvania must enroll and participate in a summer course titled, The Penn Experience: Race, Racism, and Reconciliation. I was one of the Teaching Assistants for this course through the Graduate School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. My primary responsibilities were facilitating and cultivating an enriching learning experience for new students as they participated in a series of topics centered on diversity, belonging, equity, and inclusion. I graded assignments, provided deliberate feedback on writing exercises, and engaged nearly 50 students about their experience and role in disrupting racism at UPenn and beyond.
