I was taught to be self-reliant. As a result, I have learned how to accomplish the myriad of challenges life has.If delineated a task or a question, I will do all I can to provide results. However, if I do not know at that moment, I know where to get the answer.I know how to use a variety of tools which assist in labor intensive tasks. Wood and metalwork experience as well. My experience within the military has taught me skills I could have never learned from traditional education. I was able to adapt and thrive to new situations and environments.One skill was to coordinate and complete tasks within a group; I could never have accomplished certain objectives alone. Since I learned how to lead others, I was able to receive set instructions, relay relevant tasks to service members, update supervisors, and ultimately complete the objective. However, I learned to think on my feet and get the job done on my own when it was necessary. Attention to detail was something the military was particularly focused on. Uniform and appearance had to be kept in check at all times, rules and procedures for every part of the job. As a result, I have learned to examine the minutiae often. Especially in the profession I took part in. Something as simple as a number being out of place or a loose cable and the equipment would malfunction. When teaching fellow service members about relatively new equipment, stressing the importance of details by showing how simple mistakes can lead to complications. As a result of service, I have experience working with and for numerous people. Providing customer support necessitated the need to ascertain the demands of customers in regards to operational ability. Reporting status updates to customers and supervisors when appropriate would follow.Overall, the experience in the military taught valuable skills such as teamwork and attention to detail as well as many others. I hope to demonstrate these skills and be a valuable asset to my future employer as I am full of potential and hungry for success.
