Timothy is a passionate and persuasive advocate of the High Court of Kenya, with a postgraduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law and a bachelor of laws (LL.B.)[Hons] degree from the Kenyatta University. He is a member of the Business & Human Rights Committee at the East Africa Law Society (EALS), where he advises the member states on the adoption of national action plans for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of business and human rights.Timothy currently works as the Legal Advisor for Africa at the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR), where he uses the power of law to advance reproductive rights as fundamental human rights. Working in collaboration with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, we were able to successfully prepare, draft and launch the decision to charge guidelines that are currently being rolled out across Kenya.• Involved in the planning and execution of community engagement programs & dialogues that brought duty bearers and grassroots community members together as well as conducted legal aid clinics in various informal settlements across the country. • Spearheaded the successful launch and implementation of a whole-year campaign themed “changing the middle-class perspective on extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances”. The culmination of this was a 3-part series campaign run by the Missing Voices Coalition of Human Rights advocacy partners called “Your Silence Kills, speak up campaign” that reached over 3000 of Nairobi’s middle-class residents. Leading the team includes but is not limited to fundraising for resources utilised through the competition with an operating budget of close to 20,000 USD 2.Soliciting and Negotiation of Internships for winning teams,students and committe members at top legal organizations in the legal sector. 3. Sourcing for well accomplished judges from the Kenyan Judiciary and top legal professionals to sit in as judges of the hypothetical case arguments.4. Accounting for the monies and resources spent accurately and preparation of a Complete report of the same.5.Coordinate the smooth transition of the incoming chair and committee.*Achievements*As the lead organizer, I orchestrated a resounding success at the 2018 All Kenyan Moot Court Competition. The theme was “Striking a balance between Maintaining National Security and the Respect for Human Rights”. With 11 law schools from across the nation and 7 partners on board, we raised a staggering $18,000 for the event's operation.
