As a Front Office Manager at the Holiday Inn St. Paul Downtown, I continued in my previous duties as a Front Office Supervisor and also:•Continued attaining expertise in Opera PMS, its configuration, and their interfacing with Holidex/Concerto;•Ensured compliance of the Guest Services department with all mandatory IHG employee training, IHG Rewards Club program enrollment/recognition standards, and Golder Hospitality performance metrics;•Scheduled all Guest Services employees on a week-to-week basis in compliance with varying labor standards; •Verified and corrected payroll for all Guest Services employees prior to processing; and•Priced, ordered, and inventoried miscellaneous products through multiple different vendors; also responsible for the proper coding and accounting of these purchases.

As a Front Office Supervisor at the Holiday Inn St. Paul Downtown, I continued in my previous duties as a GSR and also:•Managed support staff in the Guest Services, Engineering, and Housekeeping departments;•Completed training provided through Intercontinental Hotels Group to be a Front Office Manager;•Administered the procurement and processing of payment in our property's Account Receivable department; •Regularly trained new employees on best practices regarding guest interactions, bookkeeping, and other aspects of the Guest Services Representative position; and•Drafted a variety of documents and statements on behalf of the company, including responses to credit card disputes, guest surveys, and social media comments.

As a Front Desk Clerk at the Holiday Inn St. Paul Downtown, I:•Was named “Employee of the Month” of the hotel three times;•Mastered use of the OPERA Property Management System;•Gained valuable customer service experience by constantly communicating with guests and potential guests over the phone and in person to address all of their questions, needs, and concerns;•Marketed and enrolled guests in the company’s frequent-stay membership program, Priority Club/IHG Rewards Club; and •Obtained a Minnesota Class C Drivers License with a Passenger Safety Endorsement in order to drive a 25-passenger bus.

As a Crew Member a seven-person crew travelling and working throughout the Greater Yellowstone Region, I volunteered over 800 hours of national public service to preserve the ecology and maintain for the public sections of Yellowstone National Park, Grand Tetons National Park, and other public wilderness areas by physically eliminating invasive fish and plant species, building and clearing trails, transplanting trees, maintaining fencing, and protecting existing structures from wildfire. This highly-physical position required hiking miles to work sites with required equipment and tools and camping at or near these work sites for up to ten days at a time over the entire six month volunteer period.

As part of the organization’s Sudan Divestment Task Force, I:•Helped draft and edit the organization’s reports, newspaper op-eds, and other publications;•Conducted regular research using both primary and secondary sources toward the creation and publication of those reports, op-eds, and publications;•Regularly updated the organization’s website to post news regarding the Sudan-divestment campaign.
