Interact approximately one day a week with senior environmental engineering students who work in groups as project teams to develop preliminary engineering reports for Ohio EPA for an actual Columbus Division of Water (DOW) project. Each student group presents their draft report to the DOW staff at the end of the semester.

Serving as an adviser to environmental engineering students' research projects that are developing design design standards for an emerging technologies as part of a Master's degree program. The OSU's Ohio water resources center (OWRC) and Ohio EPA are collaborating on these projects - with assistance from Ohio AWWA, US EPA, public water systems (PWSs) and engineering consultants - Ohio EPA intends to adopt the completed standards as a supplement to Ten State Standards. After having helped establish the CEGE Department's Environmental Engineering Capstone course and assisted for several years as a volunteer instructor, served as the instructor for this Course. Goals were to introduce senior EnvEng students to the technical, financial, regulatory and sustainability issues for projects being implemented in Columbus by the Department of Public Utilities (DPU). The students developed a preliminary engineering report for a DPU project and present their findings to DPU and Ohio EPA staff. The students are challenged with an actual Division of Sewerage and Drainage (DOSD) Wastewater/stormwater project in the Fall semester and a Division of Water (DOW) project in the Spring semester.
