Co-chair, Wetland and Floodplain development practice group• Developed strategy and advised clients through multiple construction permitting actions for quarry in Northwest Indiana against fierce and politically powerful opposition;• Routinely assists clients develop and implement strategy for land development, including permitting, and occasional litigation, considering business needs and legal requirements to identify options for efficient and favorable resolution. • Routinely assists corporate and industrial clients, performing legal analysis to determine applicable federal, state, and local environmental law obligations, including those under the Clean Air Act, RCRA, Toxic Substances Control Act, Clean Water Act, state waste laws, Migratory Bird Act, and Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS).• Conducts internal privileged investigations and audits as necessary to assist clients in determining compliance status and identify and fix compliance issues associated with standard operating procedures. • Recently performed environmental due diligence for complicated vessel transaction including environmental, compliance, and real estate ownership issues requiring searching for and analyzing permits and documents from the early 1900s. • Performs environmental due diligence for dozens of development projects yearly across the country, identifying and resolving environmental and business risk associated with various properties.
