Senior Ergonomics Consultant 1996-2017; Ergonomist 1994-1996Zurich North America Sep 1994 - Apr 2017Schaumburg, IllinoisWhile at Zurich I averaged over 150 site visits/year for 22 1/2 years to clients on a global basis, to improve the design of their manufacturing, processing, distribution systems, and the production and delivery of many other types of goods and services. I spent two and a half years on the project team for the nearly $500mm Zurich North America Headquarters facility. This included pilot project consulting and data collection to achieve a better workstation design. I also led a peer team, developed the cost-benefit justification, and gained approval from the Senior Staff at Zurich for a multimillion dollar increased budget for the purchase and installation of state of the art sit/stand desks. I also consulted with the project team and Executive Sponsor regarding the workstation specification and procurement process. Once construction was completed, I collaborated with colleagues and external business partners as we began developing a plan, gaining resources to create an effective and efficient move-in project team. These efforts resulted in a successful 2016 implementation and move effort, where nearly 1,400 of 3,000 participated on an individual, team, live training or online resource-based level. This project included solving challenges that arose during the actual move process with completely new workspaces and accessories. By collaborating with the project team and both internal and external business partners, the company was able to successfully and quickly create a comfortable working environment to improve the quality, productivity, and performance of headquarters employees. During my time at Zurich, I earned numerous Bronze Awards for customer focus, and the coveted Silver Award for my efforts on the North American Headquarters project. -
