Multidisciplinary lead role focused on the success of end-to-end unit, product, integration, system and compliance testing of Siemens next-generation embedded building controller platform. As Firmware Global Test Lead, I am responsible for test resources located in the US, India and Switzerland. Accomplishments:- Project planning and reporting- Requirements management- Data analysis and modeling- Specification and process authoring/creation- Agile test development methodologies- User story creation and sizing- Issue and risk evaluation/management- Statistical and trend analysis- Relationship building and coordination- Test innovation leadershipAccomplishments include the release and BACnet Test Laboratories (BTL) certification of the initial hardware/software platform and two subsequent updates. To date, QA excellence contributed by my team has helped our project maintain a defect containment rate of 100% of critical and major issues. Our automation test coverage still sits at over 90%, enabling a high degree of on-demand, consistent testing and analysis. When the entire test suite is run, over 60,000 individual points are checked for proper functionality. We use a number of test automation technologies and concepts ranging from build server automation through exploratory and scenario investigation. I enjoy my lead role because of the diverse nature of my duties. Having a big-picture perspective while contributing to the individual roles allows me to act purposefully, be effective and achieve success. When not serving as a global lead, I personally compliance test BACnet devices for various engineering products and manage the process and interaction with external compliance test laboratories. I am also a member of ASHRAE's BACnet Protocol 135.1 working group.

Secondary focus on operations management topics within engineering development and testing.

Migrated from part-time technical authoring and contributor to full-time product testing, and later system testing. Each advancement brought more responsibility and greater involvement within projects. Duties included:- Content development for help systems, network and PC products- "Specials" work (core product adaptation for customers)- Lab implementation (design, construction and troubleshooting). Commissioned three labs that included multiple stations, protocols, configurations and equipment- Requirements analysis and tracing- Test case design and authoring- Network analysis, performance and usage- Domain administration, policies and procedures- Product test management for firmware and software (individual devices or families), - System test management for networked hardware and software (large scale systems and device families)- BACnet protocol compliance testing, external certification lab management and liaison- Increased leadership roles within teams and projects.Key focus on process improvements, operations management and providing innovative approaches to overcome technological issues.
