Currently, I own all aspects of the balance sheet, spearhead a $600M investment portfolio, and manage all central banking liquidity relationships and internal / external loan, debt, and net worth compliance activity. ➟ Created a respected, high-performance team of 8 direct reports by applying a hands-on player-coach leadership style.➟ Transformed the Treasury department from a cost center to a profit center that generated an average annual revenue of $5.25M over the last 6 years.➟ Grew the balance sheet by 100%+ from $3.5B to $7.4B and skyrocketed the investment portfolio 500% since joining in 2016. ➟ Established Bellco as “best in class,” serving as the primary interface with all regulators and auditors and achieving 6 years of perfect annual regulatory examinations on compliance with regulations and GAAP with respect to balance sheet activities.Proposed, negotiated, and stood up mortgage banking joint venture (Bellco Home Loans) with Cherry Creek Home Loans within 12 months. The JV reduced cycle time from 90 days to 30 days for fulfilling loans, and boosted loan volumes 4X.

As the VP, Assistant Controller, I owned all aspects of the monthly closing process for 6 legal entities that comprised the company’s consolidated financial results while also serving as the CFO for an investment banking broker/dealer subsidiary. I managed all financial reporting both internally to management and the Board, and externally to various regulatory authorities. And within my 3+ years there, I assumed an expanded scope to include leadership of human resources, payroll, and benefits administration. ➟ Directed the implementation of new ERP system, Workday, for the general ledger and human resources from design, planning, and implementation through to production usage and ongoing system maintenance and configuration.➟ Presented the CEO / Board with accurate picture of company’s financial constraints. Prepared monthly management package and Board reporting materials with variance commentary, variance to budget, performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), and analysis of both revenues and expenses.

Joining this Lehman Brothers entity as a capital markets finance and accounting specialist, I was hired to help establish controls, procedures, and governance over capital markets and banking activities in anticipation of the bank sale. I managed all accounting, valuation, and financial reporting for 50% of Aurora’s gross $8B balance sheet, encompassing mortgage-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and deposit liabilities, including brokered CDs and equity-linked notes.➟ Authored and/or updated GAAP policies and procedures to support fair value accounting (fair value option under FAS 159) for all non-loan financial assets and liabilities. Liaised between operations teams (Capital Markets, Securities Trading, and Treasury) to ensure balance sheet support per policy.➟ Functioned as the primary contact for all due diligence inquiries in the sale of the bank on $4B of managed assets and liabilities.➟ Retained as a ‘wind down’ team member to ensure an orderly wrap-up of the bank charter after completion of all asset sales and liability assumption deals. Continued to generate income and implemented an ERP system for accounting, which provided control and security throughout wind-down process.

➟ Provided the financial and operational backbone to support Project New West, LLC’s growth path in 2009. Drove the company through preparation of a private convertible debt offering to investors, including valuation, instrument terms design, private placement memorandum, and revised operating agreement. ➟ Advised a luxury destination racetrack developer, producing 3 years of audited financials for a company that had no financials. Led the company through a public offering accomplished through a reverse merger with a shell company.
