A strong work ethic was instilled in me from childhood. I started working a weekend job at 14 years of age and that taught me the value of earning money, how to budget, and discipline. A strong work ethic includes many things such as being on time, accomplishing what you set out to accomplish and being highly motivated to get things done. All of those things describe me. Over the years it has been my personality, work ethic and simple dedication to quality that has propelled and sustained me. Working for three different organization, all faith-based, non-profits, over a period of 30+ years speaks to my dedication and desire to not only be successful myself, but to be associated with successful people and things. Our work defines us to some degree and I want to be defined as a success.If asked what is my greatest weakness, I would say being able to rise above the minutiae in the day-to-day operations of my job. A previous Director once told me that I needed to look at everything from the 30,000 foot level and get out of the details if I wanted to grow. While I see the value of that approach at times, I think there is just as much value in knowing the details at least enough to be able to have input into SOP's and best practices. I will never be good at long-range, strategic planning but I will be good at reconciling a bank account or knowing the details of a job so that I can hire the right person for the role.If co-workers or friends were asked to describe me, they would probably say that I am funny, a "good guy" and "able to do anything". My persona is just that, "Tim can do it". I was the person that was elected "Most Likely to Succeed" in my high school graduating class and in my opinion, I have!
