I am a Faculty Instructor at Rutgers University in their Bloustein School where I teach as a practitioner expert on a series of classes related to addictive behaviors. I also own and am the CEO of a Psychotherapy Group Practice where I directly oversee administrative staff, my director of clinical operations, and provide individual clinical supervision. I additionally manage two investment properties and the related duties of such. My primary source of income, however, is running my own private practice right here in downtown Montclair, NJ - Tim Bracaglia Counseling. Clinically, I specialize in long-term psychotherapy, though I also conduct various evaluations and short-term breif interventions, too. My target populations tend to be seeking support for major traumas, sex and/or sexuality-related issues, and relationship-related issues. Many patients see me for work on feelings of anxiety and depression, mood disorders, and personality disorders, among others; and they often elect to continue psychotherapy long after the initial presenting problem has been addressed. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, and can generally be described as person-centered, affirming, and highly psycho dynamic in nature. My interventions adapt to the needs of my patient at the time. I use a combination of interventions including, but limited to, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, & Cognitive-Analytic therapy - as my top five.Finally, I am the CEO of Broccoli Health Services, LLC - which is the arm of business through which I provide professional clinical supervision services and all contract work. Primary consultant services have been asked of me related to a variety of needs, including but not limited to business mental health management implementation, advocating for reasonable accommodation under Title XII and the ADA, assisting another entrepreneur in setting up their business, public speaking expertise in multiple settings, group facilitation, and other miscellaneous and related freelance work. In all senses I am self-employed (except the part-time work at Rutgers) and currently have four people employed with two being full-time. I manage my own books, payroll, HR, and taxes. The more I learn, the more I see how much more I actually have left to learn.
