I managed two different teams, ENA's Systems Engineering team and ENA's Managed Internal Systems team.The Systems Engineering team is comprised of open-source engineers who focus is ENA's internal infrastructure. The team is responsible for the infrastructure behind the various products and services ENA provides, both internal and customer facing. Those services range from DNS hosting to Cloud Infrastructure Services. I'm responsible for making sure that the team is focused on delivering results based on the set goals. Those goals include KTLO functions as well as project based work for the design and implementation of new systems such as an open-source replacement for ENA's enterprise SAN.The Managed Internal Systems team is primarily focused on supporting the internal tooling and technical operations of the organization. These systems administrators are responsible for tasks ranging from managing employee onboarding and offboarding through automation all the way to managing our corporate email infrastructure. This team is also results focused and balances a normal ticket workload with various project related work.

I was focused on new opportunity growth and existing customer engagement for ENA’s Cloud Products. Was the lead technical sales engineer for our Infrastructure-as-a-Service product, TrustCompute; our S3 compatible cloud storage repository, TrustVault; and our file-based Backup-as-a-Service product, TrustBackup.I was part of the team that designed and built the different platforms behind each of those products and used my expertise to help our customers leverage ENA’s cloud products in their own environments. I also used the skills and knowledge I gained during my time as a system engineer to help customers understand how best to implement their own cloud strategy.

Worked on a team responsible for designing, building, and deploying a large Virtual Private Compute Cloud to offer to our customers. I was responsible for the deployment of physical hardware and the open source software that will run the environment. This includes deploying and configuring Apache Cloudstack as the orchestrator, CEPH as the storage back-end, and a 10G networking fabric to connect all the various pieces running on Brocade 10G switches.Also, responsible for management and administration of both our internal virtual environments (Linux KVM, Apache Cloudstack). This includes configuring Linux KVM servers and clustering using Linux Cluster Manager (cman tools), ModClusterD, and CLVM. Responsible for managing infrastructure and resources through CloudStack management portal, and adding service and host checks to Icinga for the purpose of proactive monitoring.Responsible for implementation and deployment of server hardware and infrastructure throughout ENA's Data Center footprint. This includes installing and configuring Linux/Windows through Kickstart configuration and Puppet. This also includes managing top of rack switches(Cisco) for various network configuration as well as VLAN manipulation and managing our various Storage Networking Fabrics on Brocade iSCSI and Fibre Channel switches.Sole engineer responsible for enterprise class SAN management and administration. This includes all hardware and software upgrades for the storage environment (firmware upgrades and adding physical disks or enclosures). Also responsible for provisioning new volumes and adding new iSCSI or Fibre Channel (Brocade) resources through Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager. Responsible for all fibre channel and iSCSI zoning to present server resources to the storage array.

Was responsible for analyzing and resolving problems associated with server hardware, technical infrastructure, and applications software. Additionally responsible for detecting, diagnosing, and resolving problems on servers (physical/virtual) and enterprise storage systems (Dell Compellent). Performed software/hardware maintenance and provides operational support of Linux/Windows server systems. Other key responsibilities included researching and planning technology improvements, disaster recovery planning, and providing consulting services for ENA’s customers on Windows Server.The sole engineer responsible for maintenance and administration of the Windows Server environment, which includes around 40 servers. Responsible for all new environments built on Windows Servers as well as our internal corporate Active Directory infrastructure. Actively manages internal DNS, DHCP, Network Access Policy servers, and Windows Deployment Services.Involved in investigating an Active Directory Domain migration as well as upgrading current Windows Server environment from Windows Server 2008 R2 to Window Server 2012 R2.
