Founder and Principal of Timothy Hatton Architects. Over more than 35 years, Timothy Hatton Architects has a developed reputation for excellence in the signature skills of conservation and traditional construction knowledge combined with pure contemporary architectural design. The 20-strong team works in the UK and internationally for a discerning client list on the design and delivery of high-end private residential, cultural and commercial projects. Each is of the highest quality with an emphasis on craftsmanship, artistry, beauty, and timelessness, underpinned by historical and technical expertise. I am involved in all projects undertaken by the practice; clients value my personal commitment, attention to detail and communication skills. I believe that buildings of exceptional architectural quality are created through understanding, resolving and delivering the complexities of design and construction down to the smallest detail. The result is that our completed buildings always respond to the spirit of their setting and are environmentally responsible. I graduated from Cambridge University with a first class degree in Architecture. After a year working with Professor Colin St. John Wilson on the new British Library, I completed my diploma in architecture on an exchange programme at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. I then worked for four years with Jose Lluis Sert in Boston before returning to London for a further period of work with Colin St. John Wilson & Partners and later with Powell & Moya. While at Powell & Moya, I also taught at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. I established Timothy Hatton Architects in 1985.
