Timothy Jacob Jensen is a highly accomplished chief designer with an unparalleled record in the world of industrial and product design. Timothy has worked across diverse industries, ranging from lifestyle and consumer electronics, consistently creating award-winning designs. Renowned for his expertise in developing design strategies, brand DNAs, and coherent design languages, Jensen has established himself as a leader in premium design.He apprenticed under his father, the legendary designer Jacob Jensen. From 1978 to 1985, Timothy participated as a key member of Bang & Olufsen’s chief design team. In 1985, he branched out to launch his own design studio in Copenhagen. After selling the studio just three years later, Jensen embarked on a global journey that saw him collaborate with design greats like Ross Littell in Milan and Form Australia in Melbourne.In 1990, Timothy took over his father’s business, Jacob Jensen Design, serving as both CEO and Chief Designer. Under his leadership, the studio maintained its reputation for excellence, and from 1991 to 1998, Timothy also held the prestigious position of Chief Designer for Gaggenau in Germany. His influence has extended beyond the design studio, with appointments as a master at DeTao Masters Academy in Shanghai and a professorship at Fudan University. In 2013, he opened a sister studio in Bangkok, collaborating with King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi to nurture design talent in Thailand.As a professor and keynote speaker, Timothy has lectured and led workshops for over 20 years, covering design ethics, aesthetics, and Scandinavian values. His work has been recognized with more than 75 international distinctions, and he was named Designer of the Year in China in 2017, further cementing his place as the most award-winning Danish designer.In 2018, Timothy stepped down from his positions at Jacob Jensen Design and established Timothy Jacob Jensen Studios at his family headquarters in 2019. That same year, he served as a juror for the prestigious IF design awards.In 2020, alongside colleagues and investors, Timothy co-founded Designers Trust, which officially launched in 2021.
