CurrentAfter scaling back my work hours in 2021 to focus on my health, I am back full-time at Seeing Machines doing what I love, which is working with our incredible Innovation team to forge the next-generation DMS and OMS solutions. The story so far. After 20 years working on the core technology for Driver Monitoring Systems, the vehicle fleet is only just beginning to be penetrated by DMS systems that will be continuously active; most importantly when driving manually. Thanks to regulations, we now see the first big "wave" of this safety technology coming, and I believe it will prevent a lot of injuries and deaths due to driver distraction over the decades to come. However, there is still a long way to go, with many other high-risk forms of driver impairment to be detected and managed by intelligent vehicle systems. Also as system reliability improves, vision-based interior-monitoring solutions are gaining traction in other aspects of active safety. Meanwhile having one or more cameras in the vehicle cabin creates opportunities for car makers to develop some very cool features.My role is navigating the increasingly complex technology terrain, guiding our team to develop our next-generation of interior-monitoring "systems IP".
